Busy Busy Thursday

May 13, 2010

I’ve got a lot going on today. All week really, but today my kitchen is going to get very warm. Yesterday I made five dozen Monster Cookies and some red velvet cupcakes. I also sliced up some apples for the pie I’m going to bake today. This morning the boys and I went to our last MOPS meeting for the year. We had lots of fun, as always, but we’re bummed that the group is taking a summer break. We’ll see some of them at church and get together now and then for playdates and such, but I’m really going to miss the group setting. Lunch has long been accomplished, but now I need to get busy in the kitchen with more baking. Yay! On the list for this afternoon are: Apple pie Potato Cheese Casserole 2 Lemon Pies (no baking required, I cheated with store-bought crusts) 5 dozen more Monster Cookies Pork Roast (for dinner), and Crash Hot Potatoes Wow, think I can get all this done before bedtime? I certainly hope so. The casserole, lemon pies, and cookies are all going to a big ol’ dinner party tomorrow evening and all of my contributions to the pot...

What a Weekend!!

April 18, 2010

We had such a fantastic weekend! Unfortunately I failed to take pictures of anything, so you’ll just have to take my words as truth as I have no proof of all the fun. On Friday evening Jeremy helped Jason and I to pack a picnic lunch in the wonderful basket that my grandparents gave us for Christmas. The basket was fancy with plates and goblets, silverware, a thermos and blanket. Our lunch was decidedly unfancy but really tasty nonetheless. I quickly made up some tuna salad and sliced up some carrot slicks. We threw in some tart green apples and PB&J for Jeremy. We’re big snackers so we grabbed some of our favorite 100-calorie packs and granola bars that we love and froze some yummy green grapes. Saturday morning Jason started packing up the truck with all kinds of things that we’d need at the beach, including our dog! An hour before lunch we loaded up the family and drove 30 miles out to Dauphin Island. We made a quick trip there last November before the weather got rainy and fell in love with the white sand beach, beautiful unobstructed view of the Atlantic, and rolling dunes. What better...

My Baby’s Coming Home!

March 12, 2010

I haven’t seen Jeremy since New Year’s Eve. I had the option to visit him in February, but my doctor advised not traveling this late in a second pregnancy. Don’t want to have an extra-early arrival. So, I wasn’t able to visit my baby last month and have had to wait a full 74 days to see him again. There are 3 days left and I am chomping at the bit. To make the next few days go a little faster, or at least get my mind off of waiting, I decided to make a list of things that I want to do with my big “little” boy before I have to take him back to California again at the end of May. First and foremost, I want to snuggle him until one or both of us can hardly breathe. I’m going to try my best not to cry with happiness when I see him come off the plane, but these advanced pregnancy hormones are quite formidable and I might not be able to hold back the tears. I have so many new books that I need to read to him. My aunt enrolled Jeremy in a Dr. Seuss...
